General

Through our customized wine tours you will discover the most prestigious vineyards of Italy, from Valdobbiadene to Nero d’Avola.  We will modify each tour to meet your desires and unveil to you the regions where the art of  vinification is the key-point of Italian tradition, legacy and the economy of generations of winemakers.

Day 1

Pick up in the morning from your hotel in Naples with our minibus and local guide. This first day is dedicated to the region of Irpinia Valley where the special soil and the ancient tradition of winemaking is kept alive everyday by local families who labor all year long to create some of the best wines in the world. We will spend the day touring each vineyard, talking to local owners about the secret alchemy of a “good wine”. Then at lunchtime we will sit together as a group with an Italian “aristocratic” family of the area, who will engage us with stories of their ancient heritage, as we sample some delicious Italian delicacies and specialties, including their masterpieces of choice wine, of course! In the evening we will take a scenic journey back towards Naples, eventually arriving at your hotel.

Day 2

Meet up in the morning with your guide who will lead you today to discover two “modern” wineries that export their delicious products worldwide. You will see how these companies have embraced the concept of futuristic wine production without losing the ancient roots of such a noble and traditional practice. Once again you will be submerged in the smells and colors that will lead you to understand the processes of wine-making. Included in the daily tour is a typical Italian lunch and tastings of different local wines.

Day 3

Pick up in the morning with the minivan and drive together with your guide to another region of Campania Felix (which in Latin means happy!). You will climb the Vesuvio volcano where you will discover hidden vineyards within its slopes that produce a very hearty wine with sulfur smells directly connected to the soil.  The grapes here grow in a forever sunny environment, producing the world’s most unique and tasty wines. After spending quality time with the winemakers, who are open to answering all of your questions, we will enjoy an amazing Italian meal with organic ingredients to fully taste the products of this blessed land. In the afternoon we will climb the volcano and witness the magnificent view from the top. In the evening, we will head back to Naples, taking you to your hotel.

Naples

Naples

Home to one of the greatest dynasties in Italy after the Roman Empire, Naples was the capital of the Bourbon kingdom, relatives of the ruling family of Spain. The long history of Naples heads back to the Greeks who founded Neapolis (new town) in the Vth century BC. Since then, the Romans, Normans, Spanish and French ruled over this part of Italy, each one leaving a mark of its presence, producing the mosaic of Naples today: a city teeming with archeological opulence; a lively social melting pot. Not many are aware that Naples is also home the the world renowned Pizza! The first pizza ever created was dedicated to Princess Margherita of Naples, and it was bestowed to her from a man at that time considered the lowest level of society. The first pizza was made of wheat, water and tomato. Today, many more ingredients have been added to the pizza, but only in this city will you discover the actual real taste of such a simplistic but delicious dish. Naples is also a city that is connected to its religious roots. Neapolitans are passionate believers and have built countless of beautiful churches spread about the small streets of the old city.  As you turn the corner, and venture towards the middle of a crowded street, don’t be surprised if you run into a Baroque white marble finely decorated church. Yes, the grandeur of Baroque.  A typical evening tour of Naples would be comprised of the sampling of Neapolitan ice cream, a walk on the seaside as you gaze upon and listen to street musicians playing Italian love songs… or  you can choose to take a ride (by car or bicycle) to the upper part of the city and experience a breathtaking view overlooking the Gulf.  Within our excursions, we include the possibility of visiting several of the churches and many of the museums of the city. Naples’ National Archeological Museum is considered one of the most important museum’s of its kind in the world, with works of the Renaissance, the Romans, and the Greeks of the highest caliber.  And if that is not enough, the house of the Royal family has been converted into a museum. A must see spot when visiting Naples.
