Etna Volcano (Sicily)

The Etna volcano is one of the biggest and most active volcanos around the world. Thanks to its predictable not explosive eruptions (effusive) it’s possible for many people to live around it and take advantage of the soil that grants amazing products such as oranges, grapes, almond trees, which are all specialties of the island. Our customized excursions will take you to discover this hidden part of Sicily. The small town of Bronte is world renowned for its pistachios, and the Zafferana town for the zafferan cultivation. Everywhere small “masserias” (farms) grow grapes that are sold then fermented as renowned wines. We will offer the chance to taste some of the local wines like nerello mascalese and nerello cappuccio for the red wines and the carricante for the white ones. We also offer a horse riding excursion upon the volcano and its surroundings for a quite thrilling and astonishing view of the area. The slow walkabout with the horses will be easy for everyone in the family, and will be directed by skilled Sicilian horsemen, who will lead you on a journey to a mind-blowing landscape. Make sure to book in the springtime when flowers blossom everywhere crowning the famous volcano as King of Sicily.
